We work with individuals, groups, families, adolescents, as well as college age adults identifying purpose and middle age adults experiencing low life satisfaction.

We specialize in crisis counseling, anxiety, depression, navigating past trauma, life transitions, self-esteem, chronic mental illness, and spiritual growth.

Our approach integrates cognitive behavioral interventions and strength-based approaches in getting clients to reach their goals. We are are also one of few therapy providers open to the discussion of faith in the counseling room.

Beyond the Couch is grateful to be able to provide mentoring and teaching opportunities for new counseling professionals. As an approved supervisor with the State of Maryland Board of Professional Counseling, we can offer individual and group supervision.

Supervision candidates will be challenged to grow in practicing in the correct theoretical orientation in meeting the needs of their client, using evidence-based interventions, operating with cultural competence, and remaining sensitive to the role of power dynamics in the counseling room. A supervision contract will also be required before the start of services. Request a call!
